Three different kinds of material for ingot mold are spheroidal graphite cast iron , heat-resisting cast iron , gray pig iron .Relatively speaking , spheroidal graphite cast iron has good ductility and plasticity , higher strength than carbon steel , which can increase the times of use , lower the probabilities of cracking for ingot mold and can prolong the service time of ingot mold .
The ingot mold made by heat-resisting cast iron is widely used. Compared with nodular cast iron, heat-resisting furnace burden is added to heat-resisting cast iron, so which can lower cost and can be recast after being scraped. Due to the ductility of nodular cast iron, it has to be cutting after being scraped, which increases the labor cost. Due to the lower melting point of cast iron, normal gray pig iron can be used when using lower temperature pouring. The price of nodular cast iron is the highest of the three kinds of material, taking into account the price and the service time, nodular cast iron is the best choice. The material should be based on the working condition, type of cooling, way of removal slag and pouring method of different plants. We have 2 sets of 30 Ton alkaline electric arc furnace; 8sets of transferring ladle with capacity of 35ton, 50tons, and 75tons; 2 sets of baked charter; 4 sets of large heat treatment furnace and the supporting facilities including oxygen generation station, air compression plant, natural gas station, CO station and 22 sets of lifting equipment machines. The lifting capacity reaches 200tons. We own 5 sets of large-scale molding equipment. Meanwhile, we also have the GS1000 vacuum direct reading spectrometer made by OBLF and other inspection equipments like carbon sulfide high-speed analyzer, microcomputer three elements of high-speed analyzer, digital ultrasonic flaw detector, multipurpose magnetic powder flaw detector such as chemical equipment, except that we also own leveraged universal strength tester, SAC thumping machine. Simulating the casting process by the CAE software to ensures the new quality level castings. All the castings are process by arc gouging, carbon dioxide gas gouging, shot-blasted in order to get the surface quality.
